Cork Loves Music
#CorkLovesMusic, in collaboration with Quarter Block Party, presents the latest in a series of talk events, designed to open up discussion and provide a place to share ideas in Cork’s music community. The topic this time around: collectives, and the impact of collaboration on music on Cork city.
On Saturday February 3rd, as the city’s historic quarter is brought to life with a weekend of music, dance and public engagement, #CorkLovesMusic hosts a pair of special events as part of Quarter Block Party’s lineup of conversations.
At 2pm at The Artist Guesthouse, members of local hip-hop co-op Cuttin’ Heads Collective will oversee a workshop on forming your own music collective, and using your experience to work with others toward common goals.
Then, at 4pm, in Cork’s historic St Peter’s Centre on North Main Street, #CorkLovesMusic will be joined by panellists Brendan Canty (Feel Good Lost), Angela Dorgan (Hard Working Class Heroes, FMC), Ross Herlihy (Cuttin’ Heads Collective) and Emma Kelly (The Roundy, Merakindie) for an open discussion on how collectives and community collaboration have shaped the music scene in Cork as we know it.
Admission to the events are entirely free, and no advance booking is required. For more information, please stay tuned to #CorkLovesMusic on Facebook and Twitter.
