Imaginary Neighbours

The Parade of Imaginary Neighbours

Sat 9th Feb | 18:00 | Skiddy’s Castle Plaza

We created the imaginary neighbours of vacant upper floor spaces of North Main Street in collaboration with the very real local residents. We invite you to a poetic community march of real and imaginary residents. We reclaim the reality of our imagination, finally walking hand in hand with its creations. We reclaim the empty spaces for those we would like to invite to occupy them.

Imaginary Neighbours Workshop

Sat 9th Feb | 13:00 – 18:00 | Middle Parish Community Centre, Grattan Street

Do you live in North Main Street? If yes, we would like to invite you to an afternoon at the Middle Parish Community centre.

The Imaginary Neighbours workshop is a collective game with the simple purpose of getting to know eachother, through imagining our (new) neighbours as life-size paper [kites]. Gergo Lukács, a young artist from Hungary and very temporary neighbour invites you to spend an afternoon with the other residents of the area. Who lives here? Who is yet to arrive? Through an artistic workshop process, we will create the imaginary neighbours of the street out of paper and strings who could live in the now vacant upper floors and march them up the street to find them permanent homes.

The workshop takes place between 1pm-6pm at the Middle Parish Community Centre (Grattan Street). Families welcome.

Imaginary Neighbours was developed as part of the Common Ground supported by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
