Laurie Shaw hails from the Wirral peninsula, England but has spent the last thirteen years recording albums in the mountainous regions of South Kerry at his parents’ home. Over his short career he has amassed over 70 albums including My Girlfriend The Klansman, The Ink Trap, Felted Fruit, Weird Weekends and Year Zero. Shaw explores a number of genres across his work, often fusing a DIY garage rock sound with anything from 90’s indie rock to 60s pop and 70s disco. Lyrically, he explores relationships within small towns and cities inspired by Northern wordsmiths like Jake Thackray and Jarvis Cocker. Shaw now operates in Cork City and for his live shows is equipped with his band The Swamp People.
